"A Right To The City" originated as a research project directed at understanding recent mass urban to rural migration in China. These migrants are also affected by the Hukou System– a residence registration system devised in the 1950s to record and control internal migration– which ultimately hindered rural-to-urban movements. To better understand how these people are affected by these coinciding factors, a simple but informative visual representation was implemented with dual posters.
Research Introduction
As part of a dual poster design, the cover was intentioned to be graphic, simple, and introduce the audience to the subject matter.
Information Graphics
While there was much research that went into this poster design, the most important pieces were curated to help the audience understand the significance and history of the current issues.
